Welcome
to the Wildfire Designs
all-season bicycling page!
Wildfire
Designs is a bicycle manufacturing business
located near Palmer, Alaska
in the heart of Southcentral Alaska's Matanuska Valley surrounded by great
bike trails and
world class winter routes, all
framed by incredible glaciers and alpine scenery. Summers are lush and green, winters
are cold and white...both offer excellent fat-tire riding.
I specialize in the exciting and fast growing sport of winter and soft-condition cycling. I am one of the pioneers in the development of the fat tired bicycle and have been building FatBikes since 1999. Since then, the FatBike concept has been well proven with many top winter racers making the switch from skinny wheeled mountain bikes and riding to numerous victories in Alaska's winter endurance races such as the Iditasport and Alaska Ultra Sport's Iditarod Trail Invitational. Along the way, Fat Biking has become one of the fastest growing segments of mountain biking. Other manufacturers have since jumped on board with overseas manufacturing and large production runs, but Wildfire Designs has remained true to it's roots by continuing the trend it started: grass-roots manufacturing of top quality, hand built in the United States frames and forks for discerning riders. Thanks for tuning in.
FatBikes are not just for snow, they work great for beach, sand dune, and gravel riding as well.
